Meet Pete: The Unexpected Star Who is Passing on His Amazing Traits
Okay, full confession, I may have had my heart set on a brown female
Miniature Poodle after months of research. But then... cue dramatic music...
my friend Cathy sent me a photo of this stunning black male
and I knew right then and there that he was the one.
Without hesitation, I texted her back, "GRAB HIM!" I was not even looking for a black Poodle,
let alone a male, but Pete just exuded that irresistible charm that made it impossible to pass up.
Sometimes, life surprises you with the best things in the most unexpected packages.
And Pete? He is exactly what I was hoping for-and more.
His combination of looks and sweet temperament make him the perfect fit for my program.
Turns out, my gut was spot on.
Pete went on to become an AKC Champion, before he even hit his first birthday
along the way, he earned Best Puppy in Poodle Specialty Show
and Best in Show Variety at the Poodle Specialty.
Not bad for a dog I was not technically looking for, right?
But Pete is not just a pretty face with a trophy shelf.
He is the sweetest, most loving companion at home. When he is not running circles
playing 'keep away' with the girls, he is the first one to curl up for a movie and cuddle session.
And did I mention he has got brains too?
Pete earned his AKC Temperament Title with a perfect score
and passed all his OFA and DNA health clearances.
He is not just a star in the ring, he has got the health and heart to match.
Next Pete went off to earn his Canadian GRAND Championship Title
because apparently Pete has decided that exceeding expectations
is just part of his job description.
