Crate training is progressing well, and his nights are fine now -
what mournful cries the first night... yikes, tugs at the heart strings.
The only thing he seems to really dislike, is his brush!
Have you got any tips on how to turn this into a better experience
(ie when should I give him a treat - after every stroke? tips on how to hold him?) Thanks!

We are having so much with Zoe (Fusia collar Female -Rose x Oliver)
She is settling in and learning our routine. We took your advice and set her up in an ex pen and she seems to like it.
The first couple of nights she whined and howled, but last night she slept all the way through, except for two trips to the back yard.
She's learning how to walk on a leash because that's the only way we can keep her from running behind the shrubbery where we can't get to her.
Everything is a game! Our veterinarian is on vacation so Zoe's first trip to the vet will be on Friday, a week from today.
Zoe seems to be in perfect health. There has been no diarrhea at all and she eats and relieves herself with no problems.
We have started to introduce her to family friends and she is happy to meet each new person.
Thank you for raising such a beautiful, happy girl. We will continue to stay in touch. UPDATE:

We couldn't get her to smile because she was distracted by the camera flash.
I'm happy to report that Zoe has been a joy to be around AND she has become affectionate!

WOW, Oh my goodness she is amazing, beautiful and exceeds my expectations.
She was late getting here because she missed her connecting flight.
We picked her up at 4 pm and have just arrived home. Her crate was very mildly soiled - I was so amazed!
No motion sickness or anything. My only concern is she seems a little off-balance, is this because of her age, or because of her lengthy flight? (Breeder suspects what Lori is seeing is the "poopy pant" puppy walk)
She is so cuddly and calm when you hold her. My lab just loves her and it has sparked the puppy again in her.
Considering we were considering putting Abby (our lab), down last weekend because she is struggling with her pancreas,
it looks like she has been given a rebirth and loves to just be with Olive.
I can't thank you enough Olive was so worth the wait!
After previously owning a standard poodle, I wasn't sure I would ever own another because he meant so much to me
and was basically irreplaceable, however I am so thrilled that you are such a reputable, trustworthy breeder
with such an amazing line of poodles that I do not regret it for one moment.
I will try to send photos in the next couple of days.
Olive is booked at the vets tomorrow for her 1st booster shot as we discussed,
however I just read in her profile that she received her first shot on September 24th? Has she been vaccinated? Please confirm.
She is also booked for a training consultation next week.

I meant to send this little video clip to you sooner, but I have been dealing with a very emotional issue regarding Abby my yellow lab whose health is failing.
However, I must tell you we absolutely love Olive!!!! She is doing so well.
We have attended 3 puppy classes and she is doing amazing and loving just going and showing-off in-front of the other dogs.
I will try to have my husband videotape the last class so you can see how well she is doing up against 13 other breeds!
She catches on so quickly! I am once again working with the Shannon Lake Working Dog Association,
and debating putting her into tracking - just for the fun of it. I do hope to return to agility but not until she is at least a year old.
In addition, I am very concerned that Olive might become depressed with Abby suddenly leaving (as you will see on the video they are just the best of friends!)
I am considering possibly purchasing another puppy next year and was wondering which one of your litters do you feel would make a good companion dog
for Olive (Raven's gold-collar puppy). We love Olive's quiet temperament and loving nature.
We possibly would be looking for a red or brown female which ever would best suit Olive.
I should mention when Olive was in to the vet at 12 weeks she weighed 17.4 lbs! I am so excited that she is healthy and robust!

PS - I think Olive was 11 weeks in the video, and loves walking on the trails!
I forgot to mention when I took Olive to the vet he gave her a very thorough examination and looked at her bite 3 x's!!!!
His exact words were "that bite is perfect.....where did you say you got her from"?
At the end of her check-up he said "that she was a very good representation of the line".
(my vet does not usually make comments like these - give yourself a pat on the back and a HUGE hug from me).

Well, my little Finnegan (dark red male Rose x Oliver-red collar) is settling in just fine!
He has won the heart of everyone he has met, but he is certainly his Mom's boy!
My Persian cat is just fine with him, went right over to hem when I brought him in and this morning she gave him a little kiss on the nose.
He is very good with her, he just doesn't understand why he can't get her to play with him.
The two tabbys ar a little uncertain, but not afraid of him - I found them both sleeping beside the baby gate this morning
so I'm sure they will come around.
I have taken a bunch of photos, but haven't doenloaded them yet.
As soon as I have a chance I will send you some! UPDATE:
The vet just loved Finnegan, but who would not???
She grew up with standard poodles and said she had never seen one this color.
She thought he was just beautiful and said he should grow up to be a very handsome BIG dog!
He of course was his charming self and won the staff over.
The little red headed devil only comes out when he is alone with Mom!! LOL!
At 11 weeks he weighed in at 15 lbs.
She said his milk teeth are beautiful so his adult teeth should come in very well and he is very, very healthy.
He is with me in the office today again.
You can sure tell he is more confident/comfortable with me and his surroundings because he is being much more active and inquisitive
than the last time he came in with me. He is a dream in the car which thrills me, because I want to be able to take him wherever I can with me! Crystal - Ontario

just wanted to write and thank you again and let you know that our boy Oggie has settled in really well.
He is curious and bright and really oriented to his ~people~.
In fact, I really have to watch because he will be under my feet if I do not look out!
He is cute as a button and pretty much completely reliable for ~big business~.

Hey Bijou Poodles,
We had Willy (Cora x Oliver red male) out in Charleston yesterday, and a couple came up to us ( as they always do ),
and told us that Willy was the most beautiful dog that they had EVER seen!
Of course he had his outdoor manners on which looks to the world like he is the calmest, sweetest dog in the world.
Two things people constantly remark on is his beauty and his calmness! Both thanks to you by the way!
I am sending her your website if that is okay with you.
The other reason for this email is to ask you if you have any red poodles that might not have sold from last summer.
It would be nice to maybe get a slightly older one, gender not being an issue.
Willy loves to play and we take him to daycare a couple of times a week to play,
and since we have completely fallen in love with him and the breed, we really are looking for another one!

Stanley (baby blue boy, Rose/Oliver)
I know you probably won't put his pictures on your website because his color has lightened
but I wanted to send you these pictures to show you how beautiful he is.
is such a character and he is a handful but I wouldn't trade him for anything.
He is 6 months old now and we absolutely love his color .. we get compliments on his color all the time.
He is not at all what I would think of as apricot, he is kind of a curious golden red, and his ears are darker red.
He is just 5 pounds lighter than his big sister Stella who is not quite 2 years old so we have a feeling he is going to tower over her when he is full grown.

Dudley (Sophie x Beau Silver Collar Phantom Male)
Here are a couple of pictures of Dudley right after a shampoo and blow dry.
He is 5 ½ months now and weighs about 45 lbs.
So far we have only had his face trimmed and are waiting awhile before we have his fluffy body trimmed down.
He is the most beautiful puppy, with his dark brown hair and phantom markings.
We get so many compliments on his looks and temperament.
Everyone in the neighborhood knows him by name and says he is the best puppy.
I have given your web site out to a few people who have commented on what a calm dog we have.
He has his crazy puppy moments, but overall he is very laid back.
